Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapy service assists children and their families to promote personal independence, engagement and participation, and safety in children’s day to day tasks.  We help children make improvements in:

  • Fine motor skills (such as handwriting, bilateral co-ordination etc.)
  • Gross motor skills (encompassing hand eye co-ordination, environmental awareness, body awareness etc.)
  • Self-care and personal hygiene (including dressing, toileting etc.)
  • Mealtimes
  • Management of sensory needs
  • Behavioural management strategies
  • Visual discrimination skills
  • Cognitive skills (e.g. attention, concentration, working memory etc.)
  • Self-regulation skills
  • Social and play skills

Our occupational therapists can also assist with

  • Assistive equipment trials and prescriptions
  • Environmental modifications
